Shops in Amsterdam

Shopping in Amsterdam is a very pleasant experience. The capital's centre offers lots of different stores providing a vast range of goods and products from all over the world.
Kalverstraat and Nieuwendijk are two busy shopping streets in the city centre. The Nieuwendijk begins close to the Central Station, running south towards Dam square. The Kalverstraat continues south of Dam square and ends at the Muntplein and flowermarket.
Apart from these shopping streets, Amsterdam has several small and large shopping centres around the city.

The most populair shopping areas in Amsterdam are:

  • Kalverstraat en Nieuwendijk
  • Leidse straat en het Spiegelkwartier
  • P.C Hooftstraat
  • De negen straatjes
  • Haarlemmerstraat en Haarlemmerdijk
  • De Pijp
  • De Jordaan

Shops providing foreign and exotic products can be found around Amsterdam as well. You will find lots of small toko's around the Albert Cuijp and other main markets. Some other examples are Thomas Green and American Book Center.
